Sunflower Cake
March 3, 2010
Last night my daughter Sarah and I started a 4 week cake decorating class. We took our class at Spun Sugar in Berkeley. It was a lot of fun. We learned how to frost a cake with buttercream frosting, and decorate with some piping rosettes and sunflowers. It was amazingly difficult. Our instructor, Linda, easily swiveled her cake on the turntable, and smoothed that frosting out. Unfortunately, it wasn’t so easy for us! But, we got through it. Once you added the edging and the sunflowers on top, it looked amazingly good (for a first effort). I will keep you posted with our weekly efforts!
